FilmStories gathers moments from years of filming around the world, sometimes found at the center of a story, more often a small detail that quietly changed the direction of a shoot. These pieces grow out of real projects, in real places, often under unpredictable conditions. They come from the field — notes written in journals and memories that never left me.
I’m drawn to the quieter turns: a look, a delay, a question I hadn’t thought to ask or was afraid to. This is the space where craft meets something less tangible, where truth shows up unscripted if you’re paying attention.
At the end of most stories, you’ll find Lessons Learned — reflections on both craft and being human: listening, failing, adjusting, trying again. Taken together, these stories form a record of one filmmaker’s ongoing search for meaning, and for the truths that live beneath the surface of things.
